Reflection: Continuous Assessment I’m Melting!!! Write an Expository Paragraph (Day 1 of 3) - Section 5: Students Take a Turn


As students work, I continuously assess their progress. When they write, they particularly need to re-read and check their writing. My students struggle to think and write clearly, so I want them to draft, reread and edit independently. This takes practice- they don't really want to go back and fix their mistakes. However, it's helpful to model, model, model when I write so they can see that everyone needs to reread and edit. In this video, you'll see how I prompt a student to reread and edit his work.
