Reflection: ELL Students Eye of the Storm: Determining Text Structure of a Single Text - Section 5: Independent Practice

I changed the way that I did my small group lesson because of my ELL students needs.  I modeled how to record evidence from the text using the graphic organizer.  I modeled how to take notes on my theory that the text structure was description by writing the topic and each of the main ideas of the section.  This helped scholars TREMENDOUSLY and it enabled them to capture more of their thinking in a way that was more explicitly text-based.
