Reflection: Students with Disabilities Checking In: Student Self Assessment - Section 3: Test Time

I do modify the test so that all my students are successful. In the case of this test I ask them to answer the first questions and to give me their best work. I also tell these students that I want them to try to answer three and five. I might even have them only answer one more if they need the time to write and gather their details.

To not draw attention to these students, I walk around and tell them as they work on the first question. For a few students I need them to focus on their writing and not on what number they need to remember. So for these students I write the numbers I want them to answer in the corner of their paper.

Checking In: Student Self Assessment

Unit 12: Testing Strategy Lessons
Lesson 3 of 5

Objective: SWBAT evaluate and write their opinions and thoughts on the biography we are reading and check their understanding of it.

Big Idea: This lesson lets me trick my students into thinking they are going to take a test. Instead the surprise comes when they see the first questions and realize they can answer them easily by answering with their opinion.
