Reflection: Classroom Setup Unit 2 District ELA Assessment: Maintaining a Testing Environment - Section 3: Student Learning Activity

As a teacher, when I give my students a test I have do more than simply print out tests and pass them out to students. I also have to factor in the testing environment when making test preparations. The physical set up is very important and some students may need an alternative environment to concentrate.  If you cannot physically rearrange your room by moving desks, do your best to separate students and keep them from clustering together in groups.

Alternative

With many students penalizing those who cause distractions by taking away test credit as a result is effective but there are some in my class that would not care about being penalized because that is what they are "used to."  As seen in the video clips, I'd rather catch their off task behavior before it becomes a large issue and redirect them so they can experience success while taking an assessment.
