## Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Addition and Subtraction Carnival - Section 3: Center Time

I have included a video clip that was also included in another part of this lesson.  As I was filming the student playing this game, I realized he was using his game board as a number line.  I thought he was more fluent with his subtraction facts, but I realized he is counting back each time.  You can watch the video and see him doing this.

It reminded me of the importance of getting to each student and spending time with them as they work.
