Reflection: Lesson Planning Writing A Topic & Concluding Paragraph for the Essay (Day 3 of 3) - Section 2: Materials and Focus of the Lesson


I made I'm ....Wrap it up Powerpoint for this lesson that showed the pictures again to help students review what they had written about. I decided not to use it because I had the 'Polar Express' video, which was much more engaging.

The students remembered what they had written about when they pulled out their organizers and it would have broken up the lesson to turn the lights on and off again. 

Sometimes, I have materials that I make and as I'm teaching, I decide they are not needed or need to be changed. That's part of good teaching - evaluating and informally assessing as you teach to gauge student understanding and keep the flow of the lesson.
