Reflection: Joy Building Background: Nature's Fury - Section 3: Teaching Strategy

This was TREMENDOUSLY fun!  It helped to build background knowledge, access prior knowledge and give ELL scholars some basic vocabulary which they will need for the unit.  I HIGHLY recommend this for any unit on weather.  Scholars who have a bit more prior knowledge enjoy the freedom to create any natural disaster. Scholars with limited exposure to natural disasters benefit from building and seeing concrete representations of natural disasters, and hearing and using language associated with natural disasters.  Overall, VERY effective!

  So fun!
