Reflection: Recounting Story Elements - Tell It Again! (Day 2 of 2) - Section 2: Independent Practice

I thought students did extremely well with the assignment even though it is only the third week of school. They caught on how to use the iPad rather quickly and were eager to help each other record. Most students did their best on the story cards because they knew they would be sharing their work with an audience.

There are a few spelling errors on the story cards. These were purposefully left alone as I worked with students on more egregious errors that impeded comprehension, such as incomplete sentences. Letter errors matched the sound and did not impede comprehension, i.e. problom and plase.

The video creation portion of the lesson spanned four days. When students were done with other work, they grabbed an iPad and a partner to record. The classroom was too noisy for recording and there was a lot of background noise. I have a small rug in the reading center, so students worked on it in the hallway.
