Reflection: Adjustments to Practice It's a process. Day 1 of 5 - Section 3: Modeled writing

I am always tempted to have the student participate when I am doing modeled writing; and sometimes it seems that I am doing interactive or shared writing (where student and teacher share the pen). I need to be careful and keep in mind my instructional goals in mind. When I use modeled writing the student participation should be minimal, and used for engagement. My goal is to show students how I approach the writing. When I do interactive writing, participation by the children is essential and it is a vehicle for guided practice.
