Reflection: Staircase of Complexity Drafting a Third Idea by Independently Planning Our Essay - Section 4: Closing

 

I always wanted to wean students off of using graphic organizers. Some students automatically wanted to use the worksheet today, but I told them they had to try out doing the organizing on their own. I always have to remember that helping students up the "staircase to complexity" is not always easy to climb, but it will eventually (after much practice) help them climb the staircase on their own.
