Reflection: Student Ownership Let’s Bury Those “Dead Words” - Section 3: Eulogy

Since Common Core Standards stress the incorporation of writing into everyday activities, this year I added the eulogy to this activity. It was an easy and logical addition to a previous activity which added motivation and excitement as the students prepared and presented their project.

The students got very involved in this activity.  They also wanted to ensure that these tombstones would be somewhere in the class for them to refer throughout the year. Of course, I allocated a section of the wall to be used for future reference.
