Reflection: Positive Reinforcement First Day of Class - Section 2: Getting to know you


I had many reactions when I asked students to give me their name and tell me one thing about them.  I had some that immediately wanted to tell me something about themselves.  

Some responses were: I am a ginger. My name means little king. I am quiet. 

Some that let me know I need to make sure to include students were that there is nothing special about me. When students said that I asked the class if there was someone that knew the person.  I then asked what is special about the person.  I realized that I will have to work to make this person understand that everyone is special.

The students seemed to have fun and most were comfortable with the question.
