Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Pick, Place, Point & Read - Section 2: Lesson & Activity


This is where I begin to see the magic in reading and writing.  It is when they take the basic knowledge of letter names and sounds and manipulate them so they can read and write.  I love the look on their face when they sound out a word and I can say, "Wow, you just read the word", or "You just wrote that word all by yourself".  I love magic!

Big Idea: We can spell words by sounding them out and reading words by blending the sounds together
