Reflection: Social Media Presence Do We Need A New Phylum? (Part 2/2) - Section 7: Putting It All Together: Posting to the Blog

In this teaching reflection, I explain my reasoning for writing a class blog. I also explain how we advertise our blog and how I use the class blog to reinforce what we are learning in class. Blogging is a wonderful way to showcase what students are learning and help students make real-world connections with their learning.

For our class blog we use Blogger which is under the Google Suite of Applications. I like using this application because it is free and easy to set up.  It allows us to embed video and images.  We can also link out to the Internet.  It also allows us to track statistics concerning our blog readership including when our blog is being read and the location of our readers. One can also allow comments, but my students chose not to use that feature.
