Water Quality: Removing Contaminants Day 2

Unit 5: Environmental Applications of Chemistry
Lesson 4 of 7

Objective: SWBAT clean water samples that contain large organic molecules and metallic ions using small cleaning particles (zeolite and activated carbon).

Big Idea: Adding particles that react with contaminants will remove those contaminants from solution; we can filter "used" cleaning particles from solution to result in clean water samples.
