Reflection: Lesson Studies Multiplying Polynomials - Part I - Section 2: Introduction: Algebra Tiles


Regardless of how long I’ve been teaching, I know there’s always so much more I can learn to do or incorporate into my lessons, whether it’s a new behavior management strategy or a differentiation technique. I like to utilize a lot of what is on the internet, usually modified, to meet my students’ varied needs. For this particular lesson, I did view a couple of different lesson plans and video samples and look over different worksheets before I came to a conclusion about the best ways to approach the topic with my students.

Objective: SWBAT multiply two binomial expression together using the FOIL method.

Big Idea: Students will develop an understanding of what it means to multiply polynomial expressions through the use of Algebra Tiles.
