Reflection: Routines and Procedures Friction - Section 2: Experiment

You will not see a lot of explanation of how to set the students up with rules and expectations in this lesson.

It is always important to make sure that you discuss those things with your class often.

One of the things that I spend a lot of time on the first several weeks of school are my routines and procedures. I set a very high standard for my expectations when it comes to respect, responsibility and safety within our learning environments. My students can certainly forget those expectations. However, the more time you spend with your class at the beginning setting those foundations, the better off things will run for the school year. This especially helps when we are doing experiments involving materials and moving around the room. I recommend that you do this for smooth lessons in any subject.
