Reflection: ELL Students Introduction to Force and Motion - Section 3: Guided Practice - whole group

 

The PowerPoint slideshow turned out to be a really great tool for this lesson. 

Students who need the verbal and visual cues benefited from the variety of examples shown in the slideshow. These physical science concepts seemed more difficult to grasp.

I found the my students who are English Language Learners were able to grasp these definitions with a little more ease when they saw pictorial representations.

Any time you have students with a language other than English, it is important to find as many resources and ways to teach a topic. The different modes give them the tools that they need to be able comprehend and make sense of the information that is provided.
