Reflection: Joy Journey Inside the Earth - Section 2: Explore

This was a very fun lesson. The following day we spent some time making flags for each of the layers as a way to review the new vocabulary terms. Students then put the little paper flags on toothpicks and stuck them in the correct layer.  

To extend this lesson next year, I will spend some more time on each layer and then invite our buddy class in for a show and share our knowledge day.

Big Idea: In this lesson, students work with clay to make a three dimensional model of the layers of the earth.
