Reflection: Connection to Prior Knowledge The Endocrine System - Section 4: Engage - Day 2

I have found that the more I am able to reference material from other lessons, the more likely students are to remember and understand the information. This section of the lesson requires students to make connections between this and previous lessons. This also helps the students understand how the endocrine system relates to the body as a whole.

It can be tempting to teach a unit and then move onto another unit, but it is vital to help students make connections to prior knowledge as they develop new knowledge. While I spend a couple of days specifically teaching about the endocrine system, I continue to refer back to the information as I teach about other body systems.
