## Reflection: Parent Communication A Great Catch! Reviewing Numbers 0-10 - Section 4: Independent Practice and Informal Assessment

The students really enjoyed this lesson and I wanted to extend the learning beyond the classroom.  I printed copies of the individual dot pattern cards and the number cards that were included in the file.  I sent these home with a letter, inviting the parents to use the dot pattern cards to help their children learn their numbers.  The feedback was very positive as many of the children came back to school the very next day saying they practiced their numbers with the cards.  Homework should be fun and engaging, and the dot pattern cards motivated students to practice at home.
