Reflection: Student Ownership Vestigial Structures - Evidence for Evolution - Section 2: Explore


Inside-Outside Circle (classbuilding, mastery, thinking, information sharing)
In concentric circles, students rotate to face new partners and share card information.

  1. Students stand in two concentric circles, facing a partner. The inside circle faces out; theoutside circle faces in.

  2. Outside Circle students explain to their inside partner what their Vestigial Structures card is about.

  3. Inside Circle students jot down 3 interesting facts about what their outside circle partner taught them.

  4. Teacher says switch and inside circle students rotate clockwise and repeat STEPS 2 an 3.

  5. Once a complete rotation has occurred partners switch roles and repeat STEPS 2 and 3.
