When reflecting upon this lesson, I realize that providing students with a string was one of the most powerful experiences! It was so important for students to prove that rectangles can have the same perimeter, but different areas!

I was reminded how powerful hands-on learning can be. Maybe I should put a purple perimeter sting around the rectangle on our perimeter poster to help students remember that perimeter is the distance around a polygon!
