Reflection: Performance Tasks Preparing for the Rock Away Town Council Presentations - Section 5: It's a Wrap

The rubric I modified does not have a row for pace, even though it was part of the 'tips on presenting' video. Next time I use the rubric I will revise the rubric to include 'pace' with expression. I will use the rubric to address speaking and listening standards.

I have already revised the rubric to include a row for content. When I scored the students I struggled to score the 'preparedness' row because I really wanted to address the student's presentation content, which I will revise to include the NGSS standards language that this lesson addresses. (See NGSS Connnections and Class Preparations.)

It was a challenge to score the rubrics while students were presenting. To help with pacing, before presentation day, pass out the rubrics for students to fill out. I will also have the card topics printed on the back side so that I can check off the topic items that were addressed in the presentation.
