Reflection: Trust and Respect Fetch the Fish - Section 2: Discuss

A classroom built upon trust, respect and support is key to success in inquiry based science. This level of respect is shown in the video when a student does not understand why the fish are colored and that the others are camouflaged. I worried at first that he was feeling badly and purposely called upon a table mate of his because I understood that both of them already have a level of trust and respect for one another. This takes time and continual support in making students mindful of each other, sharing personal feelings and sometimes my own personal experiences in my learning process both as a child and as an adult. We talk about learning all of the time!
