## Reflection: Intrinsic Motivation Quadratic Equations, Day 1 of 2 - Section 2: Learning to Factor

With a lesson like this one, I find it's very important to let my students know that these problems are not merely "busy work".  Factoring quadratic equations is a skill, and like any other skill it takes practice to develop a feel for it and to increase efficiency.  With practice like this, my students are continually encouraged to learn from one another, to try out different strategies, and to keep track of their progress.
