Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Rosa Parks: Analyzing Complex Text Structure: Practice Continues - Section 1: Cue Set


This was a great comic!  Most scholars were able to easily identify that the structure was description.  Challenge scholars to state WHY the comic is description by stating what the main idea is and the supporting details (i.e. The main idea of this comic is that he loves to read.  The supporting details are that he reads at least 3 hours a day and that he reads Facebook). 

One of my scholars also said it would be cause/effect because Facebook has caused people to read less and spend more time on social media.  I would accept this answer too because she identified the IMPLICIT structure of what the comic communicated.
