Reflection: Relevance Daffodil Walk - Section 1: Engage

 

I wanted this to be complete discovery today! I wanted them to find the place they had planted their personal bulb and then develop their own data sheet within their notes. This relaxed lesson warranted a definite immersion in just enjoying what they would see because I wanted them to reflect later on their feelings about participating in a community beautification project.

Unit 6: Plants: Structures and Processes
Lesson 5 of 14

Objective: Students identify specialized external parts of a daffodil and observe it in its environment.

Big Idea: We take a walk to enjoy and observe the blooming daffodils we had planted the fall before to further our understanding of how this beautiful plant grows and survives a cold Wisconsin winter.
