Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding The Dark Box - Section 6: Evaluate

 

I have included an example of a student's response to the question.  As you can see from this entry, she draws a picture of a student looking scared (with no headlamp) because the cave is dark and she can't see.  She also drew a picture of a girl smiling (with a headlamp).  It is further evidence that the student understands that in order to see something an object must be illuminated.

Unit 4: Sound and Light Waves
Lesson 14 of 20

Objective: SWBAT observe that objects can be seen only when illuminated.

Big Idea: Students will try to identify an object with no light, little light, and full light. Through their observations and work, they will understand that in order to see an object it must be illuminated.
