Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding What Do You See? - Section 3: Explore and Explain

 

I want to use the discussion to get at the concept that in order to see an object it must be illuminated.  As you can see from the discussion, students can hear a variety of ideas on the concept.  I want to make sure to clarify any misconceptions and to use the thinking of students to summarize the point.

Objective: SWBAT plan and conduct an investigation to determine the effect that light has on being able to see an object.

Big Idea: Today your students will work in pairs with a mirror as they learn about the need for light to see a reflection.
