I have also included an example of a student's observations from their science notebook.  In this case the student explained what they thought was going on very clearly.  However, the have a misconception that the vibrations were passed along to the water from the running fork.  It is important to make sure that these misconceptions are addressed either in the whole group discussion or individually.
