Reflection: Complex Tasks The Experts - Day 2 - Section 4: Independent Writing:

I LOVE intentional interruptions which are also called mid-workshop shares.  These are quick interruptions that happen during explorations, independent work or even partner work.  What I love most about these interruptions is the students don't move. They stay in their spots and give me their attention for only a minute or so.

1. To give a quick teaching tip in response to a shared problem or need

2. To extend the teaching point by posing a question, idea or new teaching point

3. To showcase a great example of student work

4. To remind my students of a previous lesson

5. To give instructions about upcoming work

6. To rally my students to work harder or longer

In this video you will see me showcasing a great example of student work.
