Reflection: Intervention and Extension Percent Conversions - Section 4: Closing


This year I added a HW piece to this lesson that included fold-able activity student were to complete at home. I got the idea from Jennifer Smith-Sloane who has a collection of great math activities on her website: 

The activity consists of a 8.5 x 11 sheet that is folded in fourths. Then, students are to cut along dotted lines to create 6 total sections of skill review. Students received the booklet to be folded and cut and the tile pieces that belong in each section. They were responsible for cutting up the pieces and placing them appropriately, given the titles per section. The document attached here should be copied on “double-sided” mode so that the titles appear behind the sheet to be folded. Also, turn off any hole punching features.

Anytime students asked me “how to you turn ____ into ____?”, I would ask them to take out their foldable. It’s a great tool!
