Reflection: Student Grouping Sounds Abound - Section 3: Explore

 

During this unit, I am going to create partner pairs for the entire unit.  Up to this point, I have mixed the students up for each lesson.  It was mostly to make sure that I had strong readers and writers in each group.  Now I am creating groups based on their approach to their work.  I am doing this to see if some of the stronger students can push each other's thinking and allow me to continue to work more directly with the students who still struggle with productivity and focus.

Objective: SWBAT identify sounds from around the school building.

Big Idea: Today students will take their own listening walk as they quietly walk around the school and note the sounds they hear.
