Reflection: Modeling Creative Circuits - Section 1: A Quick Review to Get Them Going!


I was grappling with how to review our lesson from the day before when we discovered what a closed circuit was. I know that my students love to see themselves in video clips. So, I decided to incorporate their authentic selves into the review. I could not have said anything as well as what they were seeing in themselves right on the SB! A picture is worth a thousand words! This is a great strategy to help students remember what they had discovered, especially when I am trying to build upon concepts and deepen their understanding.

Unit 5: Energy
Lesson 5 of 11

Objective: Students learn about completing circuits and how energy travels through a conductor taking the path of least resistance.

Big Idea: Students get a chance to be creative as they explore how salt dough will conduct electricity and convert it to light energy.
