Reflection: Staircase of Complexity Charges and Forces at Right Angles - Section 2: Forces & Charges at Right Angles

This segment of class is a little bit long and it requires students to be attentive in lecture mode for a significant amount of time. However, with a fair amount of interaction and by breaking the problem into smaller pieces, I hope to build up a rigorous understanding.

Charges and Forces at Right Angles

Unit 2: Electrostatics
Lesson 10 of 15

Objective: Students will expand their ideas about forces from multiple charges by considering the arrangement of charges at right angles.

Big Idea: Because forces are vectors (values with magnitude and direction), they must be added geometrically.
