Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Creating an object that Makes Sound - Section 5: Elaborate


When analyzing the students learning I look at their work. I see that my students can all create things that make sound, and connect these objects to a real life purpose. There are some issues I find consistent in my lesson. By knowing what students tend to do it may help support them in their learning. 

I am looking to see that each child has a date, topic or title, the plan, a purpose, and a illustration. This student work: student work kazoo- journal is exactly what I was hoping every student would create. The other student work-guitar journal  is what sometimes happens.  Then I also student work -journal modified.

Objective: SWBAT use their knowledge about how sound is created and travels to create an object that makes sound.

Big Idea: Allow the class to reflect and use their knowledge gained during the sound unit to make a device that produces sound.
