Reflection: Checks for Understanding Magnet: End of Unit Assessment - Section 3: The Investigation


As students are working, I circulate amongst them and check in with their work.  I want to make sure they are on task and focusing on the question they chose to test.  In this case, the student told me her hypothesis and and then demonstrated how she was testing it.  

It is important to not persuade their thinking or influence what they might try (this is an assessment).

Unit 3: Magnets
Lesson 10 of 10

Objective: SWBAT write a testable question about magnets. SWBAT design and implement an investigation for their testable question.

Big Idea: The students will combine their knowledge of magnets and their understanding of the scientific method to create their very own magnet inquiry. The possibilities our endless but all will be "attractive" as students conclude their magnet unit.
