Reflection: Setting -Lesson 2 of Cinder Book One - Section 1: Warm Up


I chose to use brief multiple choice quizzes as openers for the simple fact that it - especially when I use a tool like Edmodo for immediate grading - allows me to see where my students are with a concept.  This is very powerful considering that the topic is always something we are using or building on in class that day.

It also allows students to gage where they are as they see immediate results. 

I do count these points toward a warm up grade which is another reason I love putting them on Edmodo.  If a student is absent they can complete the quiz later without extra class time on my part.

Big Idea: Timing is everything, but never underestimate the importance of location, location, location.
