Reflection: Modeling Magnet Scavenger Hunt - Section 2: Engage

 

I want to make sure that the students start to use the vocabulary words, from this unit, in their science observations and discussions.  In order fro this to happen, I explicitly introduce each vocabulary word and discuss the word and meaning with the group.  These words will appear on our vocabulary wall for use throughout the unit.

Lesson 2 of 10

Objective: SWBAT test a variety of objects to see if they are attracted to a magnet or not. SWBAT distinguish similarities of the items that were attracted to the magnet.

Big Idea: Students will investigate the idea of attraction by testing a magnet on a variety of objects from around the classroom.
