Reflection: Classroom Setup Let's Rock IT - Section 3: Explore

This activity permitted students to work like a geologist as they observe and compare three kinds of rocks (metamorphic, sedimentary, and igneous). I noticed that students enjoyed this inquiry activity. They communicated with each other about what they noticed about the rocks by using their hand lens to make an accurate observation. In using the hand lens, the students are learning how to use science tools to complete investigations.
