Reflection: Checks for Understanding Number Sense Unit Exam - Section 2: Administering the Exam

In grading the exam, I noticed the following mistakes that many students made:

#1  Although the word "simplified" is underlined, students may still choose choice B.

#2 Students may multiply 10 and 14, rather than use another strategy to find a smaller common multiple.

#4  Students may not find the GCF and choose choice A or B.

#6 Since the equation uses parentheses, students may assume that it's an example of the Associative Property.

#15 Students may not understand that this is a division problem.

#16 Students explanations may not be clear as far as the steps they took to order the fractions.
