Reflection: Performance Tasks Energy Transfer Presentations - Day 2 - Section 3: Energy Transfer Presentations


Many student presentations were excellent. In the screencast below, I highlight some of the aspects of one such presentation. It is worth noting, I think, that this is one of the groups that reported out, in a previous interview, their significant struggles along the way. For me, the take-away message is that investigations like these may need additional time to allow students to struggle with and overcome obstacles. This is a hard sell for many teachers - who isn't faced with some pressure to keep moving in the curriculum? - but may be easier to accept if one can engage students in virtually all of the NGSS Science and Engineering Practices.
