Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Lets Talk - Introduction to Neurotransmission - Section 4: Elaborate

I have to say that this was one of the most fun activities we have done in my classroom all year.  The use of kinesthetic models allowed, besides getting the blood flowing, my students to genuinely engage and apply what they had learned by acting out a electric signal.  You're able to see in the video that my students genuinely were enjoying being neurons due to the fact that I planned an activity me their kinesthetic needs.  This strategy has been in my experience very successful in differentiating instruction for EL learners due to the fact that it doesn't require a mastery of the English language to be able to complete the required task.
