Reflection: Checks for Understanding Multiple Representations of Motion, Day 2 - Section 4: Checkpoint


I noticed that my students were able to create the correct representations of motion whether it was a line with a slope or a horizontal line or a horizontal line on the x-axis, but I found that just the quantitative motion notes were not enough for all students to understand where to put the horizontal lines on the velocity vs. time graph. The most common student errors were on the velocity vs. time graph. Even though they showed the motion as constant velocity by drawing a horizontal line, some students did not remember to find the slope of the line. This information tells them where to draw the horizontal line on the velocity vs. time graph.
