Reflection: Student Ownership Measuring Energy in the Atmosphere: Exploring Climate Change - Section 3: Explain


The lesson centers around a concept map that is a "work in progress". I use a concept map to tap into the power of visual learning. Concept maps allow the students to make complex associations, the unseeable in text form, representative. This helps to break down information and it easier to understand. Coupled with the power of revision, students work at changing their mindsets. I am not direct teaching, they are examining the data, inflating their learning potential, and determining conclusions for themselves. Powerful stuff.
