Reflection: Writing Across the Disciplines It's Apple Season!! - Section 4: Explain

I could not have been more pleased with the results I witnessed. The children did an amazing job focusing on the passage of text and pulling out pertinent information to document in their notes.  I was so excited that they were able to do this independently, that I immediately knew we would be able to practice this with many future lessons; not only in science, but across the curriculum.

I did struggle with the fact that we were not able to finish the lesson the way I originally had intended. I had wanted to have time to finish the foldable at the end of the reading passage.  But unfortunately, we did not have enough time in the science session to complete it.  My hope will be to find a way to weave it into a subsequent lesson.
