Reflection: Student Ownership Bats, Friend or Foe. An Argument Writing Activity - Section 5: Class Discussion/Wrap up

Some of my students are reluctant writers, however, with this writing activity, many that usually struggled, soared. I believe that the reason behind this was that they felt that there was a purpose, that someone, other than their teacher, would be reading their work and of course, that the bats needed their help.  I included a sample of a Letter to the editor,  by one of my students that rarely writes more than a paragraph. I think his passion shows through!

Student Ownership: Writing for a purpose brings new meaning to the process.
