Reflection: Discourse and Questioning Determine A Solution to a Problem - Section 6: Evaluate

 

I am noticing that when my students have a lengthy and detailed discussion in the explain section they are much more capable of discourse and evaluation in the presentation and evaluation. So, I am trying to make sure in every lesson we do a great deal of discussion. Sometimes I notice when I get in a hurry I rush through the discourse and questioning, and I notice the students do not have as much to contribute in the evaluation. I think this shows that they really do need to bounce ideas off each other in order to be able to do a good job explaining themselves, and evaluating each other.
