Reflection: Writing Across the Disciplines CERC - Writing an Evidence Based Argument - Section 1: Introduction

This year the focus of my school's PD has been writing across the curriculum.  In the science department we have decided to focus on the use of claims and evidence, in combination with logical reasoning.  With a high percentage of English Language Learners in our school it has been a challenge to develop students' writing and thinking in science.  We, as department, have worked very hard to give students opportunities to practice this valuable skill.
